Solicitors Neill Kalvin and Peggy Spadafora and one of our senior law clerks, Helen Wright, recently acted on the disposition of a portfolio of office buildings in the GTA on behalf of funds managed by Hamburg-based MPC Munchmeyer Petersen Real Estate Consulting GmbH and its Canadian advisor, Northam Realty Advisors Limited.

The buildings sold by the Vendor, MPC Capital Fund Nr. 7, included the following:

4 King Street and 155 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario, completed on March 14, 2008 for an aggregate sale price of $136.5 million; and

125 Commerce Valley Drive West, Markham, 2425 Matheson Boulevard East, Mississauga, 5343 & 5353 Dundas Street West, Toronto, Ontario, completed on March 25, 2008 for an aggregate sale price of $146 million.

Our client of over 20 years, Toronto Economic Development Corporation (TEDCO) completed the $18.3 Million sale of almost 24 acres of land in Toronto’s Midland and St. Clair area to Monarch Corporation on February 6, 2008. The site will be home to a $100 Million residential community which shall be jointly developed by the two corporations. TEDCO was represented by the head of our real estate group, Leor Margulies, and one of our senior law clerks, Helen Wright. The new development, called Evergreen, will encompass a mix of 196 environmentally friendly homes built to the new LEED-H standard. This is the first time that TEDCO has partnered with a residential builder.
